Meet Iluh and Bintang!
Iluh lives in a nearby village with her husband, their son Bintang and her husband’s parents. She helps support the family by doing some small sewing projects on her sewing machine that she inherited from her mother. She is the one making the signature towel poncho for the IN Camps and we think you will love it!
When you arrive at the camp you will get your own towel poncho to use for the duration of the camp. This piece of “clothing” is probably the most versatile you will find (maybe apart from a sarong!) and quite a few of the girls wear it more than anything else during the camp. It is the ultimate lazy garment.
It is awesome to bring to the beach for changing and for wearing straight after surf when you’re tired and salty and just can’t be bothered to put on clothes for the trip back home. It’s great when you wake up in the morning and don’t feel like putting on proper clothes before you get your surf wear on. Or when you’ve showered after a surf, when it feels like such a waste of energy to pull on anything that makes you look decent. Not to mention if you’ve been caught in a torrential downpour somewhere, get home dripping wet and just want to make yourself feel warm and cozy. When you are traveling it doubles as a board sock a sleeping bag or a pillow for those cheap hostels and homestays in warmer climates.
The ponchos are also for sale at the camp and if you decide to buy one, you support Iluh and her family directly.
